The Spa at Vidago Palace is a place of sophisticated elegance set amongst 40 acres of fragrant cedar, pine and holly. Designed by Portugal’s greatest architect, Alvero Siza, this traditional Portuguese spa once enjoyed a period of decadence in the 17th century and is re-making history as a modern day spa. The architectural charm of the Siza designed building is captured in the breathtaking contemporary build with clean, fresh lines and tremendous marble tiles set against sleek white finishes. The traditional spa at Vidago is enriched by its awe inspiring historical narrative. Vidago is celebrated for its therapeutic and curative water, collected from the marble wells of the grounds and used in the treatment of town folk and royalty alike. The Spa offers 20 treatment rooms including 5 hydro rooms & couple suites, an indoor swimming pool, a vitality pool, steam room & sauna as well as fully equipped state of the art gym.

The Beauchamps Hotel boasts the restaurant, ‘Velvet by the Bistrot d’Antoine’, which is open to external clients. Recently relaunched by a talented chef from Nice, the Velvet restaurant welcomes its guests in a bright, contemporary atmosphere with a “Bistrot-chic”, elegant, intimate style.
At last, a bit of space and tranquility when eating without being disturbed by a neighbouring conversation!
Food wise, the Velvet offers a straightforward, instinctive cuisine, which is therefore tasty, with regional accents often, but not always, from the Mediterranean. Examples include: salt and sugar marinated salmon with a vegetable vinaigrette – a “Vittello Tonnato” style veal salad – saffron and squid risotto or even Bilbao Cod served in a boiler with artichokes, coconut and chorizo juice… And for pudding: Rum Baba, Bourbon vanilla whipped cream – Baked Alaska, orange zest vanilla ice-cream…
A fine selection of French and international wine by the glass.
